The music, like the choreography, combines elements from four sources: classic to rock. The first movement (Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, Pink Floyd) is a progressive rock style with its irregular time (Allegro Molto); the second movement, a ballad style (Andante); the third a Scherzo; and the fourth a slapstick Boogie Woogie style. The choreography plays with the Horton, Dunham, Graham, and Hip hop pop and lock techniques to create our own improvisations called the Mohop.

Atom Hearts Club Suite No. 1 was originally commissioned by The Ailey School for their annual Spring Concert in 2006 and is currently in the repertory of the Ailey/Fordham Student Dancers ensemble.
