This work takes inspiration from the life and writing of Sor Juana St. Inés de la Cruz and is dedicated to all women since the beginning of time 'suspended' and for my mother Elaine. (J.B.)

The reconstruction of Suspended Women was made possible through the generous support of Caroline Howard Hyman, to whom we express our heartfelt gratitude.  This ballet was created with the support of the New York State Council on the Arts, the Harkness Foundation for Dance, and Altria Group, Inc. Background photo (c) Terri Gold.

Suspended Women is currently on tour with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.
