9/11 Table of Silence Project at Lincoln Center
Josie Robertson Plaza at Lincoln Center, New York, NY
Friday, September 11, 2015 8:15am
The Table of Silence Project 9/11 is a multi-cultural prayer for peace, realized through a transcendent ceremony for 100 dancers swathed in white, that carries out the vision of choreographer Jacqulyn Buglisi and artist Rossella Vasta. The site-specific work is titled after Vasta’s installation of 100 terracotta plates arranged around a symbolic banquet table uniting humanity. Buglisi transforms the concept into a moving meditation, a poetic call for tolerance and peace in our world. Over 600 dancers have performed The Table of Silence Project 9/11 since its first presentation in 2011, and over 30,000 people in 45 states and 82 countries have viewed the live stream broadcasts.
The Josie Robertson Plaza is wheelchair accessible from the 62nd Street drop-off points, or the Avery Fisher Hall entrance ramp on the corner of 65th Street and Columbus Avenue. Accessible restrooms are located on the Plaza level of Avery Fisher Hall.
